Why Rebuild for physiotherapy?

Your experience on your journey to recovery at Rebuild physiotherapy is our top priority. We treat the person and not the injury. By listening and understanding your needs, we can create individualized treatment programs to achieve your goals. We are up to date with the most current research and treatment protocols. We focus on exceptional customer service and excellence in physiotherapy that gets you better, faster!

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a primary health care profession that deals with movement and function. By assessing the function of muscles, ligaments, joints, and nerves, we will identify the root cause of your injury and develop a treatment plan to correct it. The goal is to restore mobility and strength in the body to get you back to work and play.

How long does an appointment take and how many treatments do I need?

The amount of treatment it takes to resolve an issue depends on the type of injury. Initial appointments are 1 hour in length and would include a thorough examination and treatment. Follow up appointments are 30 mins. After your initial appointment Eric will explain your diagnosis, provide a detail treatment plan, and a timeline for your recovery.

What happens at my appointment?

Sessions at Rebuild physiotherapy will be an one on one appointment with a registered physiotherapist in a private treatment room. The initial appointment will be an interview to discuss your injury then a thorough physical exam. Right after your exam, you will have a comprehensive treatment to make sure you feel better that same day. Treatments will involve manual therapy which means “hands on” treatment. These are techniques to release tension from muscles, ligaments, joints, and nerves in order to restore mobility. Rehabilitative exercises are prescribed to strengthen your body to improve function and prevent future relapse.

Will physiotherapy be able to treat my problem?

If you are unsure if physiotherapy is the right fit for your issue feel free to book a complimentary 15 min consultation. The consultation can either be online or in clinic and Eric will offer his honest advice on whether physiotherapy is right for you.

Does insurance cover it?

Yes, in person physiotherapy and virtual physiotherapy sessions are covered in most extended health care plans.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, physiotherapy is a primary health care service and you do not need a doctors referral to see a physiotherapist at Rebuild. However, some insurance plans may require a doctors referral for reimbursement for physiotherapy services.

What do I need to bring with me? How should I dress?

Please bring shorts and and athletic top for your appointment. This will allow the therapist to assess movement patterns, perform relevant tests, and treat the injury. Please bring any relevant medical reports that you feel will be helpful during your initial assessment.

Are these physiotherapy services covered by OHIP?

Do you accept workplace safety & insurance board (WSIB) and motor vehicle accident claims (MVA)?
